About Saadani National Park

Saadani is the only national park in Tanzania where the safari and the beach genuinely meet -- its boundary runs directly along the Indian Ocean, and on rare occasions elephants and other wildlife can be seen wandering onto the sand itself. It is a small, relatively young park by Tanzanian standards, and remains far less visited than the northern or southern circuit parks.

Game drives here cover savannah and coastal woodland home to elephant, giraffe, buffalo, and lion, while the Wami River offers boat safaris where hippos and crocodiles are commonly seen.
